Optics Theory and Methods

via XuetangX

Overview

This course mainly covers knowledge of refraction and refractive errors, including emmetropia and ametropia, myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, anisometropia, and prescription writing. It is suitable for the teaching of students majoring in optometry, being a core course in the four-year ophthalmic optics professional series. Also, it is applicable to vocational education and enterprise trainings. As the course is based on clinical scientific thinking, emphasizing both theory and clinical practice, it stimulates students' interest in learning and serves as a vital "bridge" course for students to transition from the classroom to clinical practice. While the course content is fundamental, it is highly practical, especially given the increasing emphasis on myopia prevention and control in the country. Therefore, this course is particularly important for students majoring in ophthalmic optics, aiming to cultivate their ability to solve practical problems from multiple dimensions and lay a foundation for their future vision health work.
