Obstetrics and Gynaecology is a compulsory core subject for medical students, a discipline devoted to the study of physiology and pathology specific to women, which includes obstetrics, perinatal medicine, gynaecology, women's health, family planning and eugenics. Obstetrics is a medical science that deals with the whole process of pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium in women, diagnosing and treating all the physiological, psychological and pathological changes that occur during this process, and it is a medical science that assists in the birth of a new life. Gynaecology is a medical science that studies, diagnoses and treats all pathological changes in the physiological system of women during non-pregnancy.
