Modern Measurement Technology covers work principle of measurement instrument and signal description and analysis. The content includes concepts and terminology used in measurements, data acquisition and analysis, system’s frequency response, Fourier transform, sensor technology and signal conditioning and recording. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
1. Understand fundamental concepts of measurement;
2. Use Fourier Transform method to analyze dynamic signal;
3. Get system characteristics by frequency response analysis method.;
4. Well know principal of typical sensor, signal conditioning circuit and methods of modern signal processing;
5. Design measurement system and extract signal feature.
This course is the major optional course for both domestic and international graduate students. This course have been offered since 2013, when Beijing Institute of Technology established the mechanical Engineering graduate program for international students. And in 2016, this course was introduced into the domestic graduate program. Since the opening of the course, the number of students has been kept at about 20 each semester, mainly in mechanical engineering, but also master or doctoral students from other disciplines of our school, including: mechanics, power engineering and engineering thermophysics, etc.
