With various aesthetic phenomena as the research targets, the course Modern Aesthetics aims to reveal the causes, processes and laws of aesthetic phenomena by means of the research results of modern neurophysiology and psychology. This will enable you to understand the reasons why different aesthetic objects bring about different aesthetic feelings, to know the basic laws of how social life, innate instinct and sensory organs arouse aesthetic feelingss, and to have a better understanding of the mechanism and law of aesthetics in artistic aesthetics and aesthetic education.
On the basis of presenting a related theory system of modern aesthetics, a large number of typical aesthetic cases are chosen deliberately to reveal aesthetic laws in a vivid way. This enables learners to comprehend the essence of beauty during a pleasant learning process.
Three main parts are included in the course.
The first part introduces the development process and nature of aesthetics. These will include how aesthetics came into being, the major events in the process of development, the main theories and representative figures, the difference between modern aesthetics and traditional aesthetics, the research purpose, research objects, and the research methods of aesthetics.
The second part introduces the basic theory of modern aesthetics, including the mechanism and process of aesthetic phenomena, the law of how social life, physiological instinct and sensory organs form aesthetic psychology so as to arouse aesthetic feeling, and also the law of development and change after an aesthetic occurrence.
The third part introduces the research results of aesthetics in two departments, i.e., the mechanism and law of artistic aesthetics, the mechanism and route of aesthetic education.
