Overview






The course incorporates the culture, basic techniques, and methods of Wushu and routines. By participating in this course, students gain confidence in the Wushu culture and acquire the essential knowledge and cultural essence of Wushu. They learn various basic techniques and methods, including fist styles, weapon routines, and practical skills. The curriculum includes classic routines like ChangQuan, Taijiquan, Daoshu, Jianshu, Gunshu, and Qiangshu. The course not only enhances students’ practical abilities but also teaches them how to learn independently and become future Wushu instructors.

In the course, there are 10 chapters in total: Ethics and Etiquette of Wushu, General Introduction to Wushu, Wushu and Traditional Chinese Culture, Basic  Techniques of Wushu, ChangQuan, Taijiquan, Daoshu, Jianshu, Gunshu and Qiangshu.

The course content is based on two textbooks titled “Wushu” published by People’s Sports Publishing House and Higher Education Publishing House. Some teaching materials have been adjusted to align with the educational goals of the modern era. The first chapter focuses on the Ethics and Etiquette of Wushu, highlighting our commitment to prioritizing ethics and morals. We emphasize the integration of theory and practice to cultivate students’ interest in Wushu. The technical section covers fundamental skills, training, and techniques of Wushu, going beyond prescribed routines or Taolu. This approach enables students to master the methods and gain proficiency in various exercises of Wushu.
