Overview

The course of Critical Thinking is a general education course that studies the basic principles and steps of argumentation, reasoning, judgment, and analysis. Students will be guided to explore the essence of things, to seek facts and evidence behind viewpoints with an independent, objective, and rational spirit of scientific inquiry. The course will also examine and discuss common errors in reasoning to help students avoid subjectivity when considering their own or others' perspectives. Moreover, critical thinking strategies will enhance students' basic abilities and confidence in reading, note-taking, writing, and public speaking. By the end of this course, students should establish a scientific way of thinking and a logical pattern of behavior, maintaining the habit of critical thinking in their subsequent studies and work, becoming talents with independent and innovative thinking abilities, good at using scientific research methods, and personal development skills. In addition, students should more confidently face the complex information of modern society, being able to identify, evaluate, and sort out useful information to solve practical problems and make rational decisions.

《明辨性思维》是一门面向非哲学类本科专业学生的通识课程,研究论证、推理、判断和分析的基本原理和步骤,探索事物的本质,寻求观点背后的事实和证据,使学生保持独立、客观、理性的科学探索精神。课程还将研究和讨论推理中的常见错误,帮助学生在看待自己或评价他人时避免非客观性。同时,明辨性思维策略将有益于提升学生在阅读、做笔记、写作和演讲中的基本能力和信心。本课程结束后,学生应建立科学化的思维方式和逻辑化的行为模式,并在之后的学习工作中保持明辨性思维习惯,成为拥有独立创新的思维能力、善于使用科学研究方法和个人发展技能的人才。学生能善于从现代社会的复杂信息中,辨别和评估信息的质量,筛选有用信息用以解决实际问题并做出理性的决策。
