Physics is a science about the most basic form of nature. It is a natural science that studies the structure of matters, the interaction between matters and the laws of motion. The development of physics is inseparable from technological progress, and the foundation of modern high-tech is physics. As an important compulsory course, it provides the necessary physical concepts and laws, as well as the scientific thinking methods and problem-solving skills.
This course covers topics in physics using methods of calculus, algebra, and trigonometry, including vector arithmetic. The course mainly includes three main parts of physics: the oscillation and waves, the electromagnetism and the wave optics.
The oscillation and waves part covers the dynamics and description of simple harmonic motion, the simple harmonic waves, interference of mechanic waves and the Doppler’s effect of sound waves.
The electromagnetism includes the study of static electric and magnetic fields, the Gauss law and Ampere Loop law, as well as the simple circuit analysis, including resistors, capacitors, and inductors.
The optics covers the diffraction, interference and polarization of light waves.
