The Basic Skills Training in Diagnostics is an essential medical practice course designed to apply fundamental medical theories and knowledge to diagnosing diseases. The offline course "Diagnostic Skills Training" offered by our teaching and research section has been recognized as a high-quality course for international students at both the university and provincial levels. This course is conducted entirely in English, supplemented with teacher demonstrations and interactive Q&A exercises. Its aim is to solidify students' foundational knowledge in diagnostics, deepen their understanding of the field, lay a solid groundwork for the development of subsequent clinical skills, and enhance medical students' international communication skills.
This course is offered in the third year of undergraduate study and is a core course in the clinical medicine program, with over 400 undergraduate students participating annually, divided into eight classes. Teaching activities primarily take place at our institute's Experimental Skills Training Center. Most students have already established clear career plans and learning objectives, with a higher level of interest and motivation compared to lower-year students. They also exhibit strong independent thinking abilities and frequently raise high-level professional questions. Based on these characteristics, the teaching process emphasizes the integration of clinical cases to cultivate students' problem-solving abilities in real clinical settings, encourages a spirit of exploration and research, and promotes self-directed learning.
