Overview

Moving from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0 signifies a shift towards a more human-centric and collaborative approach. The ground-breaking Industry 5.0 perspective has major repercussions on the higher education sector's competitiveness. Higher education institutions (HEIs) are viewed as the immune system for society's knowledge base. Thus, the higher education sector plays a centric role in terms of producing new knowledge, emerging technologies, and agile processes for social innovations. As Industry 4.0 decays from technology-driven to value-driven, the Universities/Institutions must integrate their functions and processes closely with the new paradigm 5.0. As the pace of technology development and its applications for industry increases, the knowledge gap between academic curriculum and industry-readiness of college graduates also increases. As Millennials and Gen Z learners are interested in using Computers, Laptops and Mobiles after COVID-19 pandemic situation, it is better to engage the learner’s using simulation and virtual simulation strategies during the Teaching - Learning process. To accommodate different types of leaners including Kinaesthetic learners (Learns best by seeing or experiencing), self-determined learning based Heutagogy approaches like Simulations, Virtual simulations and Digital Twin may be used, which is more time-cost-effective, but it is also a more creative and richer interactive environment that facilitates active learning to achieve education goals. This eight-week course is meant to introduce the teachers and learners, with the different simulation software and to engage interactively during the teaching and learning process. By the end of this eight-week course, the teachers and leaners from any department, will be able to use the different simulation software for interactive teaching and learning strategies in the classrooms and teach and to learn effectively.Intended Audience: Faculty Members and Students from any discipline.
