• This course will enable students to understand the different facets of World Heritage and its significance.• Students will also acquire the knowledge of the importance of antiquity, archaeological sites, tangible-intangible heritage, art treasures, national and international Conventions and Acts, government departments, museums, regulatory bodies etc. related to Heritage along with Conservation Initiatives.• It highlights the legal and institutional frameworks for heritage protection in India as also the challenges facing it.• This course will helpful for examining the implications of the rapidly changing interface between heritage and history.• This course will be strongly based on historical sites and monuments, therefore, at least two Projects will be provided on the Monuments/Heritage Sites as a case study.• After completing this course the students can get the opportunity in International organizations, National agencies and Private sectors in the field of Heritage Conservation and Management.
