ABOUT THE COURSE:Seakeeping of Ships and offshore structures is one of the most primary concern for ship and offshore industry because it is directly related to the safety of the ship and offshore structure. This course will thoroughly cover several aspect of the seakeeping problem and provide realistic solution for several design problems. This course will include the motion under extreme loading such as green water, slamming etc. Also seakeeping for offshore structure such as TLP, Semi-Submersible will be discussed thoroughly. Also some basics of roll damping, active and passive control algorithm will be discussed in this course.INTENDED AUDIENCE: Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture, CivilPREREQUISITES: Basic Undergraduate Level Mathematics. Basics of Wave Hydrodynamics.INDUSTRY SUPPORT: Lots of marine industries are interested on this course. The brief list of companies are as follows: 1) IRS, 2) L&T, 3) Cochin Shipyard etc.
