Overview
The course will deal with a very crucial part of the post production process of filmmaking i.e. editing. The course briefly touches the history of editing, its invention and application and how it has influenced the language of cinema. Although editing is considered an art by many, one has to have a thorough technical knowledge of the science of editing to be able to join shots together. The course has explanation of basic joining of shots to understanding complex narrative structures and how they unconsciously make a film work. At the end of the course, the student should be in a position to edit his or her own simple narrative film.
