[Prerequisite: Intermediate algebra proficiency, as determined through the Southwestern College Multiple Measures Process. Recommended Concurrent Enrollment: PSYC 271 or SOC 271. Recommended Preparation: RDG 158 or equivalent or through the Southwestern College multiple measures placement processes.] Emphasizes the basic statistical methods and analyses commonly used in social science research. Addresses descriptive statistics, probability, sampling distributions, statistical inference, correlation, linear regression, ANOVA, chi-square tests, t-tests, and application of technology for statistical analysis of data from disciplines including business, social sciences, psychology, life science, health science, and education.
