Covers a historical perspective on the development of United States social work and human services. Includes special attention on current service delivery systems, their policies and procedures, and the tasks of culturally responsive social workers and human service workers within those settings. Offers students the opportunity to complete volunteer work at a social service or community service agency, observing how social workers attempt to address social problems.
