Use Your Own Photos For Gelli Print Image Transfers

via Skillshare

Overview

In this art class, I will teach you how to use your own photos to create successful image transfers with gelli printing techniques.

You will learn how to prepare your photos for the image transfer process, and then we will discuss the materials that you will need to use.

First, I’ll show you the simplest technique for the image transfer and then we will look at how to create a two colour monoprint on the gel plate. You will learn how to create image transfers with your vintage photos and we will experiment with the effects of using stencils with gelli printing.

This class is suitable for anyone wanting to learn this unique mono-printing technique. Perfect for beginners, I will show you each technique with clear examples of how you can create these results at home.

At the end of the class, you will be able to create successful image transfers using your own photos and as a bonus, I will show you how to turn your image transfer into a beautifully finished collage.

In the first bonus lesson, I will show you step-by-step how to create an easy collage with a vintage design and in the second bonus lesson, you will see how I use my favourite image transfer to create a modern collage painting.

Your project will be to create your own image transfer using your favourite photo and to share your print in the project section of this class.
