If you love making patterns AND enjoy working from anywhere on your iPad, this is the class for you!
An iPad with the Apple pencil and the app Procreate is really all you need to create wonderful patterns from sketch to finished tile. I’ll walk you through how I sketch my patterns, draw my motifs and then show you every step on how to create both basic and half drop repeats using a few work arounds in Procreate. But hey, you can do it all on the go, wherever you want, ALL on the iPad :)
I'm an illustrator and designer with experience from a bunch of markets, all from editorial to home decor. And I make a lot of patterns. As I often mix digital and analogue techniques I tend to create most stuff on my iPad nowadays. And I was so excited when I finally found a way of creating finished patterns, especially half drops, without having to leave the iPad – I'm so glad to finally share this with you!
In this class you will learn:
- Quick basics of Procreate, enough to create patterns
- How to create a BASICÂ repeat from sketch to finished tile
- How to create a HALF DROPÂ repeat from sketch to finished tile
- How to export and upload to a print-on-demand site
You will need:
- iPad with an Apple pencil (or similar stylus)
- Procreate (app to be bought in App Store, costs 9.99 USD – absolutely worth it!)
- Adobe Capture (free app to download and use even though your not a paying Adobe CC user)
