This class is for surface designers, illustrators, or even design hobbyists that want to start incorporating lettering into their work. You don’t need to be an expert at surface design, but basic design skills will help.
I'll start the class by briefly sharing my own hand lettering journey. Then we’ll dive into all the technical details like the process for building letters, how to create dynamic layouts, and even lettering mistakes you should avoid. I’ll also demonstrate how to create four different lettering styles from scratch and we’ll discuss the design possibilities for lettering and how you can leverage it in your work. Finally, we’ll review the class project and you’ll watch me create a hand lettered poster from start to finish.Â
