Gouache is an opaque medium which is water based and is a member of the watermedia family, can absolutely be used like watercolor. As with watercolor, you can rewet gouache with water to make it thin and make it more transparent. Gouache is opaque, matte and the colors can be blended just like acrylics.
In this class we will be only using 2 colors - BLACK & WHITE. Working with black and white will help you focus open the composition, the textures, the subject and the tonal values. It will make you explore and imagine beyond the colors.Â
I will be teaching you how to paint 5 unique black and white gouache paintings. We will go through the materials and techniques first and gradually we will progress to 5 class projects.Â
