Comic Art: The Preliminary Steps

via Skillshare

Overview

This class is going to focus on all the essential preliminary work that goes into making a comic.

• We'll talk about determining what size your final comic page is going to be

•How to create layouts and artwork that is in proportion to that size

•And how to transfer your layout onto your final page of art.

In this class we'll focus on:

•Composition, not only inside the panels, but composition of the page as a whole.

•We'll talk about what level of detail your layouts need to be in order to leave yourself room to make changes and move things around as need be.

•We'll also compare the different styles of paper to create your final artwork on.

I'm just like you, most of the time, I can't wait to just jump right into the drawing process and start creating awesome visuals, but I've learned that pacing myself and making sure that I take these proper preliminary steps will ensure that the comic making process runs smoothly and that everything makes sense for the reader when it's all said and done!
