Looking to develop your personal style? In this comprehensive class we draw inspiration from nature and learn to create an illustration from start to finish.
Join in this digital art class as we paint with watercolor textures. We will cover fun illustration techniques that I use on a daily basis. Starting with a warm up painting and building skill and confidence as we go, I will walk you through the process with easy to follow steps. Everything we draw will work itself into the finished illustration in this hands-on class.
By the end of the class you will master:
- Picking colors you love and building personal color palettes
- Setting up canvas size & resolution for your work
- Choosing brushes from the huge selection available to you
- Painting with the stylus/Pencil with confidence
- Applying different coloring techniques
- Adding watercolor textures to your illustration
- Using masks as an integral part of your workflow
- Editing Text with the painting
- Sharing and exporting the finished piece
- Option to print your design on posters, home decor and T shirts.

In the class project you will complete an illustration of leaves and flowers around a quote. The class will appeal to beginners and skilled illustrators who want to develop their style and learn new techniques.
I am excited to be sharing my illustration style with you in this class!
I’ll be drawing on the iPad Pro in Procreate. You may follow through with other drawing devices or apps of your choice. Other drawing apps you can use if you don't have Procreate: Infinite Painter, SketchBook.
At the end of the class we will explore ways to share the work. I’ve already uploaded the illustration to my store.
Before making the transition to digital brushes I’ve been drawing with dip pen and watercolors. Working as an illustrator I developed my style when looking to create illustrations that feel warm and are textured like in traditional mediums. I feel that drawing with digital paintbrushes allows artists the freedom to create whatever challenges their imagination, and provides the flexibility to edit the artwork to perfection. By the end of this class I hope you would love it too!
