Privacy & Standardisation Capstone

The course is good, but only if you are self-motivated.

In terms of course content, it covers a range of essential topics and you are given chances to explore key issues (US and Europe in focus) and documents (such as looking up GDPR).

Yet, things worth a mention:
(1) there are glitches that remain unsolved for years:(quizzes with questions from the future modules, I managed to pass those few ones only by googling and research)
(2) some questions focus too much on memorizing (like asking you which rights are mentioned in a document, asking you to select like 4 from a list of 10 very similar items)
(3) some readings are very long and it requires serious reading (a good point if you are self-motivated, but certainly many MOOC learners would ignore and rely on the short video limiting your accomplishment)
(4) the Capstone project requires you to go into really difficult topics, such as comparing US and European systems in terms of health data protection. Note this is only 1 out of the 5 required assignments. Certainly good if you are self-motivated, but they are only peer-reviewed and many assignments I reviewed were so brief.

Very importantly, please expect your work reviewed by someone only after weeks, as I bet 99.9% learns were turned away by the challenging assignments. Therefore, the problem would be more serious for assignments 3 to 5.

I did see works learners spent much effort, the same for my own work, on which I spent a few nights to finish. (the prescribed time is like 3 hours per assignment)

Certainly it is a good specialisation but it requires learners' dedication and hard work. The course provider can also look at the structure of course and the way it is delivered and assessed so it can help learners of wider audience.
