This course is intended for Business Administration majors or anyone who wishes to gain an understanding of elementary data analysis, probability, and statistics. It delivers sound statistical methodology, a proven problem-scenario approach, and meaningful applications that clearly demonstrate how statistical information informs decisions in actual business practice, emphasizing statistical results that provide guidance for business decisions or suggest solutions to contemporary business and economic problems. Topics include descriptive statistics, probability and sampling distributions, statistical inference, correlation and linear regression, analysis of variance, chi-square and t-tests, statistical analysis including the interpretation of the relevance of the statistical findings as related to business applications, and application of technology for statistical analysis.
