This is a Spanish course designed for native and heritage speakers of Spanish. It increases awareness of linguistic registers, provides instruction that builds upon the existing reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and the cultural heritage and knowledge of these students. The process of writing, at paragraph and composition level, will be practiced throughout the course. The reading of Spanish-speaking writers will be used to improve students’ reading and writing skills, critical thinking abilities and understanding of the diversity of Spanish-speaking societies.
