Introduces the significance and distribution of various cultural elements and the impact of human activities on the natural environment. Takes an issue-based, or topical approach to understanding and explaining spatial patterns of the key components of culture such as population, migration, settlement, development, ethnicity, gender, agriculture, geopolitics, land-use, globalization, language and religion. Emphasizes the analysis of current world events. Field trips may be required. Transfer credit: CSU; UC. C-ID: GEOG 120.
