After completing MIT's Aircraft Engineering course, I can say it's incredibly challenging but equally rewarding. The coursework dives deep into aerodynamics, propulsion, and aircraft design, blending theory with hands-on experience. The professors are experts in their fields and provide great support, but expect a heavy workload. Lab sessions and group projects really helped in understanding complex concepts. The exposure to cutting-edge technology and research opportunities were outstanding. It’s a tough course, but if you’re passionate about aerospace, it’s absolutely worth it. I feel well-prepared for a career in the field.

Commercial aviation systems engineering (SE) delivers a set of requirements and procedures specific to the commercial aircraft sector. SE can be used in the design of original, derivative, and change-based aircraft. Beyond the actual aircraft, the idea of an aircraft system applies. Modern procedures incorporate the aircraft architectural hierarchy. The life-cycle functions of aircraft are similar to conventional life-cycle functions. The requirements and functions at the aircraft and subsystem levels can be flown from the aircraft level functions. Performance, safety, affordability, dependability, and weight requirements all deserve more consideration than others, though not necessarily in that order.

This aircraft systems engineering course provides an in-depth understanding of the various systems that make an aircraft functional. The course covers a range of topics such as avionics, flight controls, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and many more. The course is well structured, and the material is presented in a clear and concise manner, making it easy to understand even for those without prior knowledge of aircraft systems. The instructors are knowledgeable and provide practical examples that help students grasp the concepts better. Overall, the course is comprehensive, informative, and useful for anyone interested in pursuing a career in aircraft engineering or related fields.
