This course is an introduction to the techniques of traditional and modern logic comprising both deductive and inductive inference. Students are introduced to techniques for evaluating the quality and correctness of a chain of thought. The aim is to improve one’s ability to read critically and to recognize and avoid logical errors. This class demonstrates that there are right and wrong ways to reason, and that good reasoning is a skill that can be developed and improved.
