This course is designed to provide the student with an overview of the humanities through the culture and life experiences of African Americans. Content focuses on significant themes such as literary expressions, folklore, visual arts, music, dance, theater, religion, and philosophical thought. The course provides an examination of the historic, economic, and social forces that have inspired creativity among African Americans. This course is cross-listed as ETH018.
