- Module 1: Implement Azure VM-based SAP solutions
- Explore how using Azure Marketplace images involves deploying VMs based on Microsoft or third-party provided VM images from the Azure Marketplace.
- Look at how to deploy VMs based on customer-specific images, using Windows or Linux, such as SUSE and RedHat.Methodologies for deployment using Microsoft Azure CLI commands, Azure PowerShell cmdlets, and Azure Resource Manager(ARM) templates.
- Module 2: Migrate SAP workloads to Azure
- Classical Migration: SAP’s Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM) is used as the Software Logistics (SL) tool and is exclusively for database migrations. Classical Migration uses a heterogenous system copy approach and is sometimes referred to as two-step migration.
- SAP Database Migration Option (DMO): DMO facilitates both an SAP upgrade and a database migration to the SAP HANA database using one tool. DMO process is often referred to as a one-step migration. You will see how the Software Update Manager (SUM) tool creates a shadow repository for an existing database while a target database is created in parallel; eventually the shadow repository is copied and the SAP database connection is switched to the target database.
- Module 3: Maintain Azure for SAP workloads
- Understand the two methods for connecting remotely to Azure VMs running SAP workloads.
- Review the two methods for backing up Azure VMs running SAP workloads.
- Module 4: Implement Azure Backup for SAP workloads on Azure VMs
- Module 5: Implement Azure Monitoring for SAP workloads on Azure VMs
- Select the appropriate monitoring solution.
- Evaluate Azure Monitor logs and Azure Monitor for VMs.
- Configure a Log Analytics workspace.
- Navigate the Log Analytics interface in Azure Monitor.
