Overview

  • Module 1: Learn how to access policies, resource locks, and tags, as well as how Azure services such as Azure Policy and Azure Blueprints can help you build a comprehensive cloud governance strategy. Prepare for AZ-900.
  • After completing this module, you'll be able to:

    • Make organizational decisions about your cloud environment by using the Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure.

    • Apply a resource lock to prevent accidental deletion of your Azure resources.
    • Apply tags to your Azure resources to help describe their purpose.

  • Module 2: Learn about the decisions you make before creating a virtual machine, the options to create and manage the VM, and the extensions and services you use to manage your VM.

  • Module 3: You'll learn the fundamental principles of computer networking to prepare you for the Azure admin and developer learning paths.

    • Describe network communication principles like TCP/IP, DNS, and ports.
    • Describe how these core components map to Azure networking.
  • Module 4: Explore the fundamentals of computer networking security and monitoring.
  • In this module, you will learn how to:

    • Describe the client-server network model.
    • Describe the difference between authentication and authorization.
    • List the different network firewall types.
    • List the types of items to monitor in a network.
    • Map core network components to Azure networking.
  • Module 5: Learn the steps to install the Azure CLI locally, create a website, and manage Azure resources using the CLI.
  • In this module, you will:

    • Install the Azure CLI on Linux, macOS, and/or Windows
    • Connect to an Azure subscription using the Azure CLI
    • Create Azure resources using the Azure CLI
  • Module 6: Learn how to install Azure PowerShell on Linux, macOS, or Windows and then connect to Azure and manage your resources.
  • In this module, you will:

    • Decide if Azure PowerShell is the right tool for your Azure administration tasks
    • Install Azure PowerShell on Linux, macOS, and/or Windows
    • Connect to an Azure subscription using Azure PowerShell
    • Create Azure resources using Azure PowerShell
  • Module 7: Use Azure Active Directory to you secure your internal, external, and customer identities.
  • In this module, you will:

    • Describe the core terminology of Azure AD.
    • Describe the core features of Azure AD.
    • Describe the licensing models for Azure AD.
  • Module 8: Introduction to Docker containers
  • In this module, you will:

    • Evaluate whether Docker is an appropriate containerization platform for you
    • Describe how the components of Docker containers support compute container implementations
  • Module 9: Learn how using Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Cosmos DB - or a combination of them - for your business scenario is the best way to get the most performant solution.
  • In this module, you will:

    • Learn how to classify your data as structured, semi-structured, or unstructured
    • Learn how to determine the operational needs, latency requirements, and transaction requirements for your data
    • Determine whether your data requires transactions
