This course is best suited for non-U.S. citizens. It will provide non-U.S. citizens with a study of the federal and state system of government and the U.S. Constitution, preparing them for the naturalization citizenship interview with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The course will include civil rights, voting, historical development of the U.S., types of government, the electoral process, political parties, the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government, and the relationship between the state and federal systems of government. The student can practice reading, writing, speaking, listening, and pronunciation in English.
