This course will provide an introduction to scientific research methods in the social sciences. Topics will include research experimental and nonexperimental research designs and procedures, ethics, literature reviews, collecting and analyzing data, interpreting and reporting results, becoming familiar with American Psychological Association (APA) writing format, and critical analysis of scientific findings. Topics will be examined within the context of the various subdivisions of Psychology, as well as from culturally diverse perspectives.
