Molecular Foundations of Medicine

As someone with prior intermediate to advanced knowledge of most topics covered in this audit-only course, the offering gave me an opportunity to review important concepts and to be introduced to some new ones. The primary means of instructional delivery used in the material - on-the-spot doodling - is also quite effective for the most part. However, for relatively more complex topics, I think that "smoother" and professional animations may be more effective. The list of topics also felt kind of "all over the place" rather than systematically structured to include those typically taught in molecular biology courses in medical school (for instance, only transcription was included among the components of the Central Dogma). Slightly ruining the experience as well are videos that often lag (especially those that are not connected to YouTube), even with good internet connection, and some images (needed to answer quiz questions) not showing. All in all, I recommend the course for first-time learners and those needing refreshers alike, but do not expect to master the topics without consulting other references as well.
