Moving charges experience a force in a magnetic field. If these moving charges are in a wire—that is, if the wire is carrying a current—the wire should also experience a force. However, before we talk about the force exerted on a current by a magnetic field, we first examine the magnetic field generated by an electric current. We are studying two separate effects here that interact closely: (1)A current-carrying wire generates a magnetic field and (2) the magnetic field exerts a force on the current-carrying wire. By the end of this project, using wolfram notebook, learners will be able to analyze the effects of magnetic fields on moving charges and find velocity of a charge and magnetic force on a moving charge. They will also be able to determine the magnetic force on a moving charge and the radius of curvature of the path of a charge that is moving in a magnetic field. Learners will be able to calculate the Hall EMF across a current-carrying conductor & the magnetic force on a current-carrying conductor.
