Develop your skills in Mandarin Chinese

This three-week course will help you develop your language knowledge to become more confident in communicating in Mandarin Chinese.

Designed for Mandarin learners who have already achieved level 1 according to the “Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL)” specification, this course will explore different shopping topics to help you use practical Chinese in daily life.

Through videos, interactive materials, and exploring real-life situations, you’ll follow step-by-step to increase your language skills with ease.

Learn essential Chinese grammar

Throughout the course, you’ll develop your Chinese grammar skills as you explore topics such as existential sentences with posture verbs and verb reduplication.

Delving into different scenarios, you’ll see the real-world applications of Chinese grammar to further develop your understanding.

Develop your breadth of Chinese vocabulary

To ensure you can discuss different shopping topics, you’ll learn key vocabulary to help you communicate how to pay by mobile, online, and shopping in different contexts.

You’ll gain the skills to successfully shop in convenient stores, department stores, online, supermarkets, and traditional markets.

Become more confident in your Mandarin language skills

Throughout the course, you’ll be guided by the experts at National Chiao Tung University to ensure you finish with the knowledge and confidence to communicate in Mandarin Chinese.

This course is designed for learners who have already achieved level 1 according to the “Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL)” specification, which is equivalent to CEFR-A1.

Learners at this level spent 120-240 course hours in Chinese speaking areas and 240-480 course hours in non-Chinese speaking areas and they possess basic grammar and about 500 high-frequency vocabulary.
