GUEST SPEAKER Vonzella Bryant, MD, FACEP, FAAEM Director of Undergraduate Education Boston Medical Center Clinical Assistant Professor, Assistant Dean Emergency Medicine Boston University School of Medicine Boston, MA Health inequities based on race, ethnicity, gender, and/or other personal characteristics constitute a public health crisis that has been well documented for decades. These inequities are unlikely to improve until the healthcare workforce leadership reflects the population that it exists to serve.

Syllabus

After participating in this program, learners should be better able to: 

  1. Discuss interpersonal racism in the context of Critical Race Theory and the history of racism in the United States.
  2. Employ the LIFT method (Lights  on,  Impact  vs  intent,  Full  stop,  Teach) for responding to microaggressions towards learners, patients, and colleagues
  3. Develop strategies to promote uptake of antiracism skills across the entire healthcare team
     

METHOD OF PARTICIPATION AND HOW TO RECEIVE CME CREDIT
