Really, really poor. Very very boring lectures. Also, you cannot learn this kind of thing by just showing commands one by one and expecting students to remember. This kind of knowledge has to be applied, which means setting up constant challenges and practical tests. It would help if the tools were applied to a start-to-finish bioinformatics problem on real (but managably small) data which answers specific questions and poses specific biological problems. The course has huge potential becasue these are core bioinformatics tools, but the way it's taught is just so un-engaging.

I covers the content you would hope for in a course on analysis of genomics data using command line tool, and for that, I give it two stars. However, the assessments often have inadequate instructions, and teaching is rather bare-bones. I wish there was an equivalent course out there that was taught better.

I thought the course was very clear in instructions and as a tutorial for the command line. Don't know how it could have been clearer in its instruction.

No question the worst class I've taken so far on coursera. I've had to google many times due to the bad explanations instructor gave.

This course was well structured, I have benefited a lot from it. Not intimidated by writing my own commands in Ubuntu any more.
