This course I must say was very educating. I recently developed keen interest in the development of Cancer therapeutics, decided to search the net and do some readings when I stumbled on Discovering Science : Medicinal Chemistry. I thought to check…

It is a variegated course on medicinal chemistry, with two specific topics: oncology, and medical imaging. The topics are presented in a well written, and profound way, the student is able to understand the importance of topics like contrast agents, and what might cause cancer, and what progresses have been made, why there are different kind of cancer treatments, and what ethical issues might arise in the progress in the field of medical imaging.

I really liked spending my time in gaining more knowledge about the heavily talked topic of cancer, and what was for me vague at the beginning Medical diagnostic imaging.

A well organised course that is part of a series 'Discovering Science'. Although I am retired, these courses are ideal for someone thinking of taking a chemistry degree at Leeds University; the courses, with an additional test, would give the participant some credits towards their degree. The extra reading is also well worth spending time on. A good course, thank you to the organisers/educators.

I would highly recommend this course. You get into very important concepts in medicinal chemistry and it is very interesting. By myself I can say that this course is making me really excited in my future step to do my PhD in pharmaceutical chemistry (pharmacology) or medicinal chemistry.

This really interesting course is definitely worth taking, even if you aren't doing the entire 'Discovering Science' programme. The course videos and texts are clear and helpful (as is the glossary!) and there are links to relevant supplementary material. I learned a lot.

I've enjoyed the course , it was very helpful and explained in a very easy way, no need for medical experience or background to understand the topics plus it's a free course from University of Leeds - school of chemistry so trusted information from real researchers.

This course was very well structured and I feel that I have gained a significant amount of knowledge on the topics of medical diagnostics and imaging. The course can be taken by a beginner as it thoroughly explains all concepts and technical terms. This course has helped me to understand what goes on in a hospital, and has provided insight into research that is currently being carried out and how this research may develop the world of medicine. I would recommend this to anyone with an interest in medicine.

This is an exciting course to attend as it deals with many of the cutting edge technologies used in cancer treatment. I enjoyed watching the videos provided and in particular the presentation given by Dr Sophie Schumann on her research on the treatment of Kaposi's Sarcoma. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in Medicinal Chemistry.

A very informative course for anyone. I, personally, had no prior knowledge to medicinal chemistry but it has helped me understanding cancer research and medical imaging techniques much more. Everything is explained simply and more in depth as 'extras'.

It was an excellent course: interesting, compact, but without a shallow /simplistic approach. It provided useful links, articles etc. for further studying. Thank you!
