This course will help you identify the positions of organs within the abdomen and will introduce you to common anatomical terminology.

You will look at the anterior (front) abdominal wall, exploring how the ‘abs’ are considered in relation to health and beauty. Focussing on common problems that can occur in this tract, you’ll hear from an abdominal surgeon about the work he does to treat and cure such problems.

  • This class is a real treat for any curious learner. It is an inspiration to learn more about human physiology and biological sciences.

I loved the class, which is very short, but still, covers important detail about human anatomy in simple language. Activities are interesting and most importantly, learners taking this class are amazingly curious! I truly enjoyed this class and would recommend it to anyone curious enough to learn about human anatomy! Great to start with learning about the abdomen and our GI tract. Truly an excellent class for everyone!
  • Interesting short course about the abdomen and digestive system that also discusses some common disorders and their treatment.

I took this MOOC as I want to go into radiology.
Anatomy was something I wanted to understand better, getting used to the positions of each organ and their functions which corresponded with the anatomical language used throughout.
This was an eye-opening course that kept my interest all the way through from each video and research tasks set for us to do. The comment section was particularly my favourite as it allowed me to share my thoughts and research to everyone else taking the course.

This is a good cause if you’re not sure of the anatomy of the abdominal area. The lecturer explained things well and I love the video presentation. I found week 2 very interesting.

The course Anatomy: Know your Abdomen is the best course that can teach you about the internal organs of your Abdomen whether you are a Medical student or not.

    ● diseases associated with each organs,
    ● symptoms, effects and preventions of the diseases.

Pages difficult to navigate. No clear buttons for submit, previous, next. Audio video dull, video with transcript would have been engaging and much better. No way of doing the end quiz to check for understanding unless payment for course was made.…

I throughly enjoyed this course. It is well designed for easy learning. Loved the used of the plastic body within which organs could be removed to see anterior and posterior body parts.
The vocabulary used is simple yet informative. I came away with a very good understanding of the abdomen, its parts and its function..

The course was really easy to follow. I did think it was going to cover the entire adominal cavity, hence the reason I gave it a four star rating. Had I known it would not included e.g. positions of all the organs, connections between the organs, that is, if I'd been prepared for its limited information, I would have given it a five. It was very well presented. I particularly liked the video at the start where people on the street were asked where they thought the organs were in the abdomen and the way they were shown where they actually were. It was not condescending, but informative. The quizzes were good too.
Wish they'd had a female dummy as I've never seen one used in anatomy classes.

This is not an elaborate course but it covers pretty much all the basics. It's a great start for people who don't really know anything. It's very well explained and it is very visual, you always get to see a human itself for the anatomy terms or a 'puppet' for the internal organs.

The only this I disliked is that we had to research a topic, but they didn't give us any guidelines to do so. When you're searching on Google it's hard to find trustworthy papers, so some recommandations would have been great. Maybe they could also integrate extra readings on the topics.

interesting to learn and good video .knowing the position and function of our internal organ , also the length of our small intestine and colon intestines .Some surgical info and procedure on colon and rectal removal .Partial of colon rectal is removed and using stapled or stitch to securely connecting both cutting end .Laparoscopic instrument is used for minor surgical procedure for less time on surgery and rapid healing .

    thank you

  • Expected much more, learned nothing. A very, very basic and superficial course that is appropriate only for someone who knows absolutely nothing about anatomy.
