On this two-week course from Coventry University, you will have the opportunity to explore evidence-based theories, methods, and concepts to critique and enhance your practice for the dynamic higher education environment.

By understanding how to create meaningful interactions with your students, you can strengthen their learning and assessment experiences using both digital and conventional approaches.

Explore how to improve your teaching through learning theories

Week one explores various teaching contexts.

From Behaviourism to Cognitivism, there are many different learning theories in the field of education, all aimed at improving how students learn.

This course aims to help you develop your understanding of learning theories, giving you the opportunity to reflect on and share your views and preconceptions about learning.

You’ll also explore different modes of teaching delivery in the modern world and how teaching in online, face-to-face, and blended spaces can influence student learning.

Learn to use different types of assessment for various contexts

You’ll start week two by looking at assessment and how you can support students to understand the purpose and requirements of their assignments.

Then, you’ll discuss the different types of assessment, including formative and summative approaches, and how these can contribute to students’ learning.

Build your tools and techniques to provide effective feedback

The aim of feedback in education is to help students improve their learning, so it’s important to ensure that it works for your students.
