Description
Explore fusible collage as textile artist Laura Wasilowski shows you how to make a whimsical art quilt! You’ll begin with a simple sketch (use your own or Laura’s design), then convert your drawing into a master pattern. Use bold, hand-dyed hues and batiks to create fused fabric design elements, and follow along with Laura to assemble a countryside scene. Next, add dynamic dimension to your quilt with collage! Discover fun, fast techniques to turn fabric strips into a grassy foreground and lovely lake, and add playful pizazz to your composition with a quick color-chip trick and textural tiled collage. Then, showcase each element of your landscape with a variety of gorgeous machine-quilting motifs, including wavy, vein and sketching stitches. Finally, attach a rod pocket to the back for display — you’re going to want to show this quilt off!
