Description
New York Beauty blocks are a classic design that has been around for years. In this quilt, designed in a medallion style, you will begin by constructing four paper-pieced beauty blocks in the center and then build outward on them with a combination of borders, blocks made from half-square triangles, and more New York Beauty blocks.
You will learn the basics of paper piecing, including what paper to use and what to set your stitch length to in order to ensure that the paper removes cleanly. You will also learn how to make templates from various materials and get tips for selecting and organizing fabrics for this particular design.
This class will show you step by step how to assemble the beginning paper-pieced blocks and sections, and how to cleanly and accurately sew on the curved template pieces. You will also get tips on how to assemble the remaining paper-pieced blocks and see how to make the blocks featuring half -quare triangles.
Finally, you will get instruction on assembling the quilt, including how to ensure that your paper-pieced blocks perfectly align and how to add even, non-wavy borders.
