Formwork Systems is a comprehensive course designed to equip learners with essential knowledge and skills in construction formwork. The course comprises of four modules. Module 1 covers the fundamental principles, strategic material selection of formwork, along with insights into essential accessories and tool applications. In Module 2, the learners explore on various formwork types, including conventional and engineered formwork for foundations, walls, columns, slabs, and beams. Module 3 focuses on practical aspects of system formwork, detailing components, assembly, and deshuttering techniques and Module 4 delves into specialized formwork applications, such as tunnel formwork and climbing systems, with real-world case studies.
Upon completing the "Formwork Systems" course, learners will able to understand Fundamental Principles of Formwork, identify and apply essential components, explore various formwork types, develop practical skills and implement quality and safety standards.

- This module delves into fundamentals of formwork and it’s importance in construction. Learners will know the formwork classifications, benefits, and objectives, examining competitive areas and the strategic selection of formwork materials like timber, plywood, H-beams, steel, aluminum, essential accessories and consumables. The module also covers the application of tools, providing a holistic understanding. Additionally, learners will be familiarized with the fundamental codal requirements for formwork materials.
- Formwork Types
- The module aims to provide learners with a comprehensive overview of various types of formwork such formwork for foundation, wall, column, slab & beam. Learners will gain a holistic understanding on conventional and System formwork. Additionally, the module facilitates learning conventional formwork drawings.
- Vertical & Horizontal Formwork
- This in-depth module has been crafted on components, assembly and deshuttering of foundation formwork, wall & column formwork. Going beyond theoretical principles, the module imparts practical insights that can be directly utilized in real-world situations.
- Special Formwork & Applications
- The learners will be able to explore on special formwork such tunnel formwork, formwork for high rise construction and various climbing systems. They will gain practical knowledge and engage in real-world case studies to acquire the required skills.
