This Guided Project Data Preparation with Alteryx: Automating Analytics is tailored for beginner Alteryx users, who are looking to reduce the time it takes to manually complete their recurring data preparation tasks through an automated alternative.
In this 1-hour long project-based course, we will start by exploring the functions and use cases of some of the most commonly used Alteryx tools and familiarizing yourself with the Alteryx interface. Then, we will begin the data preparation process by learning how to bring in the data source(s). From here, we will observe the data, identify which parts need cleaning, and learn how to transform the raw data to fit the business needs (i.e., joining, removing duplicates, fixing data formats, deselecting unnecessary fields, etc.) After we've cleaned the data, we will learn how to output it into a usable form (CSV, Excel, Hyper, etc.) The last step is to publish the workflow onto the Alteryx Server and set a schedule to run this workflow again in the future.
This project is unique because it's a step-by-step lesson from start to finish on how to create an automated data preparation workflow to start your Alteryx journey. Learning these steps will give you the fundamental knowledge to explore the many other functions that Alteryx provides, such as analysis building, sending tailored emails, utilizing APIs, and more.
Please note, that to be successful in this project, you will need a basic understanding of data, some familiarity with data cleaning, an active Alteryx account, and the Alteryx Designer and Server configured on your machine.
