This class will explore the importance of color in conveying mood, depth, contrast, and emotion in students’ work. We’ll review the color wheel, color harmony, and the context of how colors are used. Learn to use a limited palette to create a range of color contrasts, learn color mixing, and develop an intuitive color sense in drawing and painting.Sample Class Format:Tints, tones, and shades: how to develop a monochromatic composition using the value scale.Explore the use of analogous and complementary colors in a composition.Color Temperature (warm vs. cool): students learn to break down the essentials of how warm moves to cool, receding vs advancing colors.Students will develop their color sense while incorporating skills, techniques, and terminology learned from class in their final project.What To BringART SUPPLIES are NOT included in your online class fee.We recommend going to your local art store to support small business.How To ParticipateThis class will be hosted on Zoom video conferencing platform.
