Phlebotomy Tech Clinical

Limitation on Enrollment: Admission into the Phlebotomy Technician Program. Corequisite: PHLEB-600 (may be taken previously) and PHLEB-605 (may be taken previously). Preparation for the state phlebotomy technician certification exam and employment as a certified phlebotomy technician, focusing on clinical application of knowledge and skills gained in the corequisite course. Following the California Department of Health Services requirements, students perform skin and venipuncture procedures, determine and implement appropriate responses to complications, and strictly adhere to mandated infection control protocols and phlebotomy techniques.
