Prerequisite: ID-16, 17, 21, and 22. Advanced course integrating knowledge, problem-solving, conceptual development, visual and oral communication concerning a residential and a non-residential project. The course focuses on the design process, furniture layouts, effective space plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, lighting, electrical plans, renderings, and creating models. Additional course emphasis in selecting interior components and materials as well as providing estimates and scheduling for two complete projects. This studio questions how culture is represented globally and how those representations can affect a design project. Projects challenge the student's preconceived notions of interior design and client needs while they work to solve a particular design problem that might initiate global, social, or environmental changes.
