The Fire Prevention course provides fundamental knowledge relating to the field of fire prevention. Topics include; history and philosophy of fire prevention, organization and operation of a fire prevention bureau, use and application of codes and standards, plans review, fire inspections, fire and life safety education, and fire investigation. This course is identified by the National Fire Academy and FESHE as an approved course as listed in the National Fire Academy FESHE Model Curriculum Associate's document produced 2011, Revised 2014, 2016, and 2019. This course is included as part of the articulation between CSU and Community Colleges and by standardized CID numbers. The course units are transferable into the CSULA Bachelors Program.
