Examines contemporary social, economic, political, cultural, and environmental issues in a global context. Focuses on the emergence and long-term historical dynamics of the capitalist world system and its impact on the regions, nations, organizations, communities, households, and individuals within it. Topics may include colonialism, globalization, poverty, health, technological and environmental change, and social movements. This course meets the Cabrillo College multicultural studies requirement.
