This course introduces the basics of how technology and music interact. There will be an emphasis on audio software and hardware, basic principles of sound, digital audio workstations, MIDI, synthesis, and sequencing. Particular attention will be paid toward making connections between analog and digital technological contexts. Lab activity consists of self-directed projects which make use of software and hardware found in the typical digital audio studio. C-ID: Commercial Music (CMUS 100X)
