Explores the sociology of agriculture by examining the disconnect consumers have with where their food originates from. Agricultural practices have changed over the years and this course will explore the genesis and evolving relationship agriculture has with societies, their environments and the economic shifts that drive agricultural activities. Students will also examine how their relationship with food effects their health and their physical and mental well-being, with an emphasis on how their purchasing habits impact social and environmental change in the long run. Students will explore career options in this field and construct a student educational plan.
